I adore Beyoncé’s latest album “4” and I love every track in it! One of her ballads “I Miss You” stood out lately & has been my on loop for weeks now after overplaying “1+1”, “Best Thing I Never Had”, “Love On Top”, and “I Was Here” for months lol. It felt to me like this song doesn’t have a figure or subject in particular. By the lyrics, it’s not for the “other half/lover” per se but I reckon it is her song for her dad. We’re all aware of the whole other woman/separation/family drama debacle that Beyoncé’s father went through. Rough times! I’ve heard a lot of melancholy driven songs but this track, in particular, made me a little misty-eyed when I heard it (Don’t judge!). I somehow felt her pain and willingness to forgive. Hmm..

I Instagram‘med this Versace for H&M logo right after Donatella’s video interview about the collaboration courtesy of youtube. This logo suggests serious & chic fashion whilst the Lanvin pour H&M logo last year was effervescent, playful, colorful, and very “French”.

Indeed, Donatella Versace. Indeed! News has been swirling around since the break of dawn today as H&M partners up with a high-end Italian design house for the much anticipated collaboration of the year. VERSACE for H&M that is. This is definitely something to be excited about (especially now that I’m with H&M company). I wonder if they’re going to incorporate Versace’s iconic Greek Key pattern in the collection as well. The A/W line will be available in November. This time I must own one as l had zero luck from last year’s Lanvin pour H&M limited collection. Let’s see if this will top the previous hype. *Bam!
UNIQLOOKS!
A great way to exhibit “uniq” styles! The Japanese brand of basics and classics is holding a summer contest for lookbookers, and the likes. Three winners will be chosen from the top 20 by UNIQLO (click link for more info) and the incredible Nicola Formichetti (Uniqlo’s Creative Director & Lady Gaga’s stylist). Gawd! I would join but I’m well aware that I have a slim chance of bagging at least one of the prizes plus I don’t own any Uniqlo merchandise (not yet lol) & a good professional DSLR to make it all artsy (only a regular point-and-shoot. Boo!) so really, there is NO point! I just want to share this exciting extravaganza. The prizes are pretty grand for the 3 chosen winners (read through for prizes). They’d be very lucky, I’m sure! *Bam!
Cute indie-esque billing, isn’t it? I’ve been waiting for this coming-of-age film to come out. I’ve watched the ‘First Look’ (The Making) on HBO GO and it urges me more to clap eyes on this movie. I must say, Emma Roberts is Tinseltown’s youngest sweetheart in the making. I tell ya! Freddie Highmore is now all grown and expressive in acting, which is a revelation. A young love story, finding one’s self in a haystack of adolescence, great urban cinematography, and “Art” as an undertone really captures my interest. I MUST SEE this weekend! Chanel Cruise 2012 Première Partie (Part 1)
Long overdue! I’ve been trying to blog this since the video release back in May in a continuous “complete show”.. I tried my bestest to locate a video in full but to no avail until it slipped my memory. So blogging in 2 parts will suffice. Karl Lagerfeld is at it again with his extravagant Resort fashion shows. This time, it wasn’t in the upscale hot spot St. Tropez made famous by the world’s richest/fashionable jet-setters but the nearby village, Antibes on the French Riviera. Hotel Du Cap-Eden Roc was the chosen venue, which is one of the most expensive hotels in the world (according to my research). The collection showed simplicity and luxury. Classic pieces in neutrals and pastel. It also showed facets of ‘Chanel style’ from the black & white blocking to prints & fabrication (tweeds, lace, etc.) I personally like the venue and the music (Painted Eyes by Hercules And Love Affair). ‘Til next season! *Bam!
Chanel Cruise 2012 Deuxième Partie (Part 2)..
Feeling a little high schooler tonight, I watched the recorded MTV remake series TEEN WOLF which is actually a pretty rad, well-made show. Came across this song by James Vincent McMorrow halfway towards the end of the pilot episode from a scene where the lead guy (Tyler Posey) first felt a budding love. I know, I caught this song on the cheesiest part of the episode. I love it, nevertheless.

Jag älskar det! My beloved fembot Robyn (@robynkonichiwa) freshly released a new music video today for ‘Call Your Girlfriend’ (I can’t help but wonder if her dance was rehearsed or freestyle). This one brought back memories when I first saw her inches away at her concert in SD last year. Seriously, what’s up with all these great Scandinavian artists slowly penetrating the pop scene for the past years (though Robyn’s been around for quite sometime now). Extravagance is unnecessary but they can still clearly relay their message. There must be something in their water, I tell ya. All she really needed was simply her beautiful platinum blonde self, a humongous empty space, strobe lights, and her super rad signature dance moves and voilà!… “Body Talk”.. Jag älskar det! ;)
